    RC0 fails to install

    500 Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, xxxx@file-portal.net and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Apache/1.3.41 Server at www.file-portal.net Port 80
This happens after the installer finishes uploading the files and I go to http://www.file-portal.net/ess20 to continue with the web based install. I deleted the DB tables and the old files from test 7 build, and still the same.

    RC0 fails to install

First, this Contentteller forum is now obsolete. Please post any Contentteller related questions only on the new forum at http://community.contentteller.com

Sounds like that something in .htaccess is causing this problem. Try to rename .htaccess to something else and see if that helps.

    RC0 fails to install

There is a .htaccess file in the ess20 subfolder (the one from CT I suppose) and one in the root of the site that gets recreated if I try to delete it. I tried deleting the one created by contentteller from the ess20 subfolder, and moving it to the root. I still get the same error in both cases.
Ironically, "the integration with vBulletin 3.7" doesn't seem to be working at contentteller.com. I am logged into the CMS, but the forum says I can't post.

And if you completely delete the .htaccess file in the ess20 folder? The installer (cadmin/cinstall.php) seems to work though.

Because it is not integrated ;), The members area module is even independent from the users module.

    RC0 fails to install

Here's what my error log says:
[27-Jul-2008 16:41:06] PHP Warning: Zend Optimizer for PHP 5.2.x cannot be found (expected at '/usr/local/Zend/lib/Optimizer-3.0.1/php-5.2.x/ZendOptimizer.so') - try reinstalling the Zend Optimizer in Unknown on line 0
It doesn't seem to work at all. Regardless of whether I delete CT's .htaccess file or not. I can access the cadmin just fine though?

Hmm.. look like you left an older Zend encoded file from one of the previous preview releases. Maybe it is the best if you delete the entire ess20 directory and then re-upload RC0.

    RC0 fails to install

That's the problem. I already deleted the folder twice (and the database tables). I don't get it. I'll try again or maybe use the archived versions.

    RC0 fails to install

Maybe an encrypted file remains inside the executable based installer for RC0?

    RC0 fails to install

Odd. After thinking about it, you shouldn’t even get an internal server error because of Zend encoded files. If you run Zend encoded files without installed Zend Optimizer you should only see an error message like “Zend Optimizer not installed. This file was encoded by the Zend Guard. In order to run it, please install Zend Optimizer (available without charge), version 3.0.0 or later”

I will try a test installation with the .exe version later and see if I can reproduce this problem.

    RC0 fails to install

What's weird is that I can login to http://www.file-portal.net/ess20/cadmin, but going to the frontpage (http://www.file-portal.net/ess20) fails.

If you send me a private message with your FTP login I can look into it.

Found the problem. Your ess20 folder was chmod to 777. Some provider (like yours) doesn't allow the execution of scripts in writable directories.

You also need to change the Website URL under Main/Manage Websites to http://www.file-portal.net/ess20 in order to fix the broken images.

    RC0 fails to install

What a mess. That change was made by me, but only because the folder had no execute permissions by default, and I thought that may have been the cause for the error. Strange. At least it works now.
