    Installing CT Error

    Hey Phillip,

I'm trying to install CT on my web server. I enter my URL for my website in, but it keeps telling me that it either can't connect to the web server or that it has created the "ipf-work-.dir....", but it cannot be located on the webserver? I enter the full address and it tells me that it can not connect to the host which I know it did in the previous step.

This is probably just something stupid that I missed right?

    HELP!!

Try to enter the domain name only.

It still tells the same about the folder "ipf-work-dir-.... has been created, but cannot be located on the webserver."

and it also prompts me to "adjust the URL to point to the location of the package install folder on the web, then click. Next to retry."

I'm on a GoDaddy linux server would the make a difference.

Perhaps you installed it in the wrong directory? Did you choose a public accessible FTP folder (for example: public_html) for the installation?

The installer is uploading diagnostic tools via FTP to ipf-work-dir and then try to access that directory over the web (e.g. http://yourdomain/ipf-work-dir/ ..)

No dice with the ipd-work-dir route. I've selected that my webserver isn't up yet. I'll work on the file locally and upload them manually. Will do it this way mess anything up?

Thanks for all the help Phillip.

No, the only downside is that the ionCube version will not automatically installl the ionCube loader runtime (if necessary). Also, you need to set the includes directory manually to 777 (writable) and then run cadmin/cinstall.php

Any chance you might have a "how-to-install" PDF? I think this might be a pay grade or two above me.

    Thanks,

Same problem as before. I can't get it to install in the folder I created on my server. I've tried again today using the Zend installed version. I hate being a pain in the ass for you, but I can't get passed this stubborn point. I called GoDaddy today to see if there is any reason why I can't install to this directory. Should I try the Ioncube version?

It look likes that the Zend version is the best choice after Zend Optimizer (required for the Zend version) is installed on all GoDaddy shared hosting accounts.
