Install issues Hello, I am trying to install the RC3 version on windows machine. I installed the apache and going to http://localhost I have the confirmation page that is running. However when I'm installing Contentteller at the Install directory option after I select the corect path I get the message "Unable to connect to host localhost" Please check setting.... Any ideas ? I choose the install path under apache\htdocs so the permissions should be fine...
Sound like there is a problem with your database server. Is the MySQL database server installed and have you setup a database?
Thanks, I fixed the problem. Now I have another one, I installed contentteller integrated with SMF forum. I followed your steps from your Knowledgebase but after install what do I have to do to access them ??
Contentteller didn't change the location of your forum. You can access it under the same URL where you have installed it previously.
Do you know what could be wrong, If I create a user under the website I'm not able to log on the forum and vice versa .... Thank You, Dan
Contentteller will use the forum user database only for the front end. Any user that is registered in your forum can login on the front page to post comments etc. You need to manage these users with your forum admin control panel; they will not show up in Contentteller admin. The admin backend is independent from your forum user database. All admin users must be added in Contentteller admin. This is mainly for security and stability reasons.
This is the problem I am facing, any user created on the forum is not able to log on the main website ... On the Contenteller manage website I have set up the Universal Wrapper to use Contentteller . Do I miss something ? Thank You, very much for the fast reply !
Yes, you should choose SMF 1.1 or SMF 2.0 instead of Contentteller Additionally, you may need to change the following settings: Group 1 (optional): 4 5 6 7 8 Group 2 (optional): 1 Group 3 (optional): 2 3 Group 4 (optional): 0 Group 5 (optional): 0 Group 6 (optional): 99 Table prefix (optional): smf_
Thank you, I got it working but when I want to reply to a comment on the main site I got the message Error Your account has been banned. Any thoughs ?
Hello, I choose SMF1.1 as Universal Wrapper. Then the rest of the settings are : Group 1 (optional): 4 5 6 7 8 Group 2 (optional): 1 Group 3 (optional): 2 3 Group 4 (optional): 0 Group 5 (optional): 0 Group 6 (optional): 99 Table prefix (optional): smf_ I am able to log on the main site with the users created on the forum, but when I try to reply on comments on site I got the message Error Your account has been banned. Thank You for your assistance, Dan
The version is SMF 1.1.6 . I just wipped out everything and reinstalled contentteller and smf and I got the same err. hmm
I see SMF require also to set a cookie name. You can get the cookie name of your current SMF installation in the SMF admin under Server Settings => Core Configuration => Cookie Name. Then copy this name to the Cookie Name field of Manage Websites in the Contentteller admin control panel. Let me know if this fix the problem.
I tried SMF 1.1.6 here but was not able to reproduce the banned error on my installation. Can you send me a PM with the admin login of both your Contentteller and SMF installation?
