Upgrading from RC3 to the final version is fairly easy 1) Make a backup of your site and database (just in case) 2) Upload the script and then run /cadmin/cupgrade.php to upgrade the site. Alternatively, you can run the Windows installer that will do both for you. 3) Do not run "Sync Templates" after upgrade. It is only necessary to use this function after upgrading from one major release (2008) to another (2009/2010)
